Cabins deep inside the canyon could take 25 min to walk so I guess people abuse the no driving vehicles rule and drive everywhere. The closest attraction is the El Capitan Beach which is a 1/2 mile down the road which could take 30 min to walk to. We had bikes & scooters but rightfully feared the uphill return wasn't worth it.
