So, I'm working on assembling my the details for my Eagle Scout Project, and my scout leaders have told me that the minimum amount of hours required for a project is 85. However, the Eagle Scout workbook I have says, in bold, "There are no required minimum hours for a project. No one may tell you how many hours must be spent on it."

You are not required to have a minimum number of hours in your service project. However, you must demonstrate your leadership abilities to your Eagle Scout Board of Review. As the Chair of a District Advancement Committee, and the District representative at many Eagle Boards of Review, I look at the hours in the workbook carefully.

Jul 06, 2012 · Our district advancement committee use to have the benchmark of 250 man hours for a project. Planning, fundraising, preparation and actual work all count towards the total number of hours. Of course now they can't set a minimum number of hours.
