I tried to force connection, but they would never budge. I turned on diagnostic logging to get more information about what was going on in the Event Logs.

Some users were reporting that they were not getting messages that they were expecting so we checked and seen that there are some messages stuck in the Local Delivery queue in Exchange 2003. The emails are mostly from internal users sending to other internal users however there are a few external emails that are stuck in there also.

Mar 24, 2006 · I run a Exchange Server 2003 (SP1) on a Windows 2000 (SP4) server. I had a database crash the other day after my UPS died. I managed to run the database tools and fix the problem and the Storage Group is back online. The problem I am having now is messages seem to get stuck in the "local Delivery" queue and don't produce and NDR's.

The user can now send and receive NEWLY sent emails HOWEVER for some reason there are about 60 or so messages that were sent yesterday stuck in the Local Delivery Queue in Exchange System Manager. I tried forcing the connection but these stubborn messages will just not deliver.
