Durango is a great little getaway from Phoenix - my daughter and I always get back to Durango for a pre-season warmup!! Its only about a 6.5 hour drive. Its a great little getaway with some unbelievable snow - the slopes have short runs but there is great snow !! Last season (feb 2007) they have 4 ft snowfall in 48 hours - can you say blizzard!!

For a destination ski vacation in mid to late February and March, definitely put Purgatory at the top of the list. A group of us split time between here and Wolf Creek mid Feb '07. What impressed us the most was the amount of fun we were all having.
