Your baby should have the first wet diaper 12-24 hours after they are born. By the first week, this should have increased to between 6-8 diapers. And as they grow, if this figure remains consistent based on the 24 hours duration, then you shouldn’t worry a lot when you find a dry diaper in the morning.

Posts: 247. 3 month old dry diaper for over 5 hours. I hope someone has heard of this before - If so, please help. Yesterday I picked my three month old up from daycare and the caregiver said that she was surprised that she had a dry diaper after the two hour check. But, then 30 minutes later she had wet once. So, I kept my eye on it last night.

We EC (elimination communicate--diaper free) and I am on a yahoo forum for it and this is a frequent discussion. It seems from 4 months on its possible, even in babies who continue to nurse during the night, some even protesting if offered the potty. Mine is not there yet, we stay clean and dry but visit the potty 4-5 times a night.
