We drove about 40 mins to get to Downs Park for the dog beach on the suggestion of multiple dog-owning acquaintances. The park is lovely! There are lots of trails both asphalt-covered and natural surface, multiple pavilions, playground, picnic areas, launch area for kayaks/canoes, and plenty of space both in the sun and in the shade for hanging out.
