Disneyland opens at 6:00am. on May 22 for a 24-hour kickoff of the Diamond Celebration. Regular admission is required and crowds often reach maximum capacity at these special events. Plan to arrive at the gates by 5:00 a.m. and buy a Park Hopper ticket if you plan to see both Disneyland and California Adventure in 24 hours.

Disneyland will be using the "Diamond Anniversary" for 18 months, so it there won't be a big opening event in 2016 for the two parks. Should be interesting to see, but I would look to 2017 and a special "Marvel" 24 hour event ;)

But, last year when they were open for 24 hours, the event went from 6am on the first day, till 6am the next morning. Heres more info on the event last year that may be somewhat helpful, but Disneyland can change things around and do something different, just no way to know for sure till they post some official info.

Apparently, Disneyland (and I assume DCA) will be open 24 hours on May 24. We were (are?) planning to be there that day but will not be all-nighters. Can anyone offer tips from the last time this occurred (Feb 29, 2012, I believe)? Is the park crowded most of the day or do the crowds come late...
