You say this, but how many people work in Tesco, or the Co-op, they too are probably on minimum wage, but no one leaves those poor people a tip, they probably need it more than the delivery drivers who more often than not hold a pizza driving job for EXTRA income of an evening.

I always tip as long as the delivery is correct and within a reasonable time scale. Somewhere around 5% on a delivery is reasonable. Anyone who says that they don't tip in the UK is just tight!

I always tip in restaurants when you can just leave the change (plus maybe some extra £s on the table) but I don't tend to tip the delivery person, mostly because I've already paid online/by phone and I'd feel worse giving over £1 to the delivery guy than I do not giving anything at all.

Even Americans would baulk at such a high tip for just a takeaway without very good reason for it. They would probably give 20%. I don't tip my delivery driver (I don't buy delivery takeaways any more) because it's a three-minute drive, tops.
