I remember "way back when" there weren't delivery fees and you could give a good driver a $10 tip without feeling like you were somehow shafting yourself by doing so. And then, for my area, gas prices skyrocketed a while ago and the places that didn't have delivery fees added them, and the places that had them went from about $1.25-$1.50 to $3+.

If they give you a 30 - 40 minute delivery time, and the driver is ther in 45, you should still tip. And the drivers use their own cars. So paying for gas is a definate. But no one ever takes to account the wear and tear of the car itself.
