Jun 27, 2008 · it really depends how far they are located from you like the Chinese food restaurant i call is like 2 blocks down from me (yea I'm lazy so wat! lol) and they just come on bike i usually give them 3 dollars somethings 4 if the food got there fast. but if i call like dominos and they have to drive to my house psh i give them 4 or 5 bucks kuz gas is EXPENSIVE!!! lol

May 27, 2009 · Yes to both questions. The delivery charge covers gas. The tip is to encourage a smile and to make sure you don't have to wait 2 hours for your pizza the next time you order ;-) More importantly, they work for tips otherwise they couldn't afford their rent.

The problem with the delivery may have had nothing to do with the driver but with someone else who prepared the order or with a manager who required a driver to deliver too many orders at once, so they were late, or the order was cold.
