Jul 11, 2007 · But delivery people? They bring it in, they take something out, no level of "extra" is really involved in my opinion. Come to think of it though, we tip pizza delivery people every time. Not sure why though, as they get paid too by their employer plus we often pay a delivery charge as part of the cost. Tipping is a bit overdone I think.

Aug 25, 2009 · I use the 20% rule and adjust it for delivery charges and service. For example, if the food cost is $30, 15% is $6.00. If there is a $3.00 delivery charge, I subtract that from the tip amount, and base the tip on $3.00 If the delivery is prompt and the delivery person is professional, I will round the tip up, and maybe even toss in another dollar.
