Dec 16, 2009 · A friend of mine who used to work as a furniture importer said (after I had ordered it) the DFS Christmas guarantee was a running joke within the industry. OH and it does say on the paperwork that it is an order for pre-Christmas delivery and the photo of the tag stuck to the sofa which I took it says "guaranteed before christmas" but in the small print it says on rare occasions a delay may occur.

Guaranteed delivery by Christmas ! ... so if I needed a new one in time for Christmas and DFS could guarantee that, when their competitors couldn't, I'd probably go to them. Maybe it's conditioning, but I'd be suspicious of any company that could deliver in three days. Jeez, how long would that sofa have been languishing in their cold warehouse?

To think DFS are crap. We bought a new sofa off them weeks ago - they said they'd be in touch at least the week before delivery. They've sent DP a text at 2 pm saying they will be delivering 'between 8 am and 2 pm tomorrow'.
