I again called up DELL, waited for half an hour, got a representative and according to him, 11th Jan was just a probable date and it could extend again. So I thought of cancelling this order.

Also the few times it became loud, all i had to do was start dell power manager and choose Quiet or Optimized in the dell thermal management. I mostly used it plugged into AC power and keep it on ultra performance mode. Long story short, coil whine hasn't been much of an issue for me till now, 3 days and counting..knock on wood.
