You must configure PAM to authenticate to LDAP or you use system accounts. If PAM authenticates to LDAP, it does same thing as auth_imap and does not support AUTOMAILDIRMAKE and AUTOHOMEDIRMAKE. If you use system accounts, you are not using LDAP and run your qmail-ldap setup in basic local delivery mode. -- Tomas
