You can't delete the HU which is asigned to the delivery document. ONly thing is you can cancel the assigntment in packing using the icon cancel assignment, then the delivery object assigned to the HU will be deleted and the HU become Non-assigned.

After packing u cant delete the item in the delivery. follow this process --> there is a deletion icon on the right hand side of the screen when we do the packing itself, so go to vl02n, go to packing screen, there u can see the deletion icon, (a dustbin like) now select the HUs to be deleted, then click the delete icon, it will be deleted.1/5

It is not possible to delete the HU or HU assignment in the delivery packing screen because the HU is not there. There is no HU assigned to the delivery (nothing in packing screen), but the delivery still has packing status 'C' / 'B'.
