The hike is not the most difficult since it is so short but it is a very rocky hike and the beginning is steep. One minute you check your elevation and it is 600 and 10 minutes later you look at your elevation and it is 1200. It takes me about 45 minutes to get up and probably about 25 minutes to come down.

Lots of folks of all ages hike Cowles Mountain. We arrived around 10:30am, and it was difficult to find parking. Finally found some street parking not too faraway. It was a bit hot that day. Probably about 80 degrees if memory serves me correctly. Make sure to bring a liter or two of water plus some sunscreen when you come over.
