That is, they are the hours in a year that the HVAC system serving a space cannot maintain space setpoint. Jul 23, 2019 · When the HVAC System Minimum Timestep was set to the most detailed setting (1 minute), the change in unmet hours for this specific scenario was dramatic, with only 36 unmet hours occuring. Using 1 minute is extreme and may not be suitable for your situation. Using 1 minute could adversely impact the performance and calculation time of your model.

Unmet Load Hours that are reported basically indicate how many hours the Zone will be outside of the thermostat setpoint. You cannot adjust that setpoint, Title 24 restricts the input. There are a number of causes for this message, but the net result is the zone either has too little heating, too little cooling, or inadequate airflow to maintain comfort conditions in the space, as reported by the CBECC engine.
