To my way of thinking, engine hours mean more then miles in terms of engine life reduction. I'd use 55 MPH as an average +5% idle which would lead me to what a truck might have in terms of hours that was not idled excessively. An OTR truck that does not have an APU and resided in the south probably idled a lot if not all the time.

I use 60 miles per hour of run time as an average for wear and tear on bikes with hour meters. For those with odometers, I use 15 miles per hour runtime. So a bike with 40 hours on it has about the equivalent of 2,400 miles. A bike with 1,000 miles has about 67 hours or runtime wear and tear.
