Posted July 30, 2015. If you dedicate your life to your rotations, 70-80 hours is sustainable. You just have to ignore home and family responsibilities to do it. In my general surgery, rotation, I'd work 60 hours in 5 days, then drive 2 hours "home" to spend time with my wife and kids.
