Feb 07, 2013 · So I ran Chkdsk/r about more than 24 hours ago. When it reached stage 4 of 5 at about 36 percent (316831 of 586736 files processed), it seem to be stuck. and It has been the same state for about 30 hours now. But the harddisk is seem to be still active as I can still hear it running. And no, there're no weird voices that came from the harddisk.

Dec 01, 2013 · It has been stuck on 10% for the last 13 hours with 42518 out of 289776 files processed. On the bit I can see 10 files have had bad clusters replaced. I know this can take a long time to complete but 13 hours on the same file seems excessive to me. The hdd light is on . The laptop has a6gb memory and 750 gb hard drive.

Jul 24, 2016 · My laptop has just started running incredibly slow. It keeps running chkdsk when starting and then it takes about 10 to 15 minutes to boot up, hanging on a black screen for ages. When it has finally booted up it keeps freezing when I am trying to run any programs. I have run a malware bytes scan and removed potential threats but no change.
