18 reviews of Caernarfon Castle "Caernarfon Castle is one of the series of castles Edward I build ringing Wales. In more modern times, it was used for the investiture of Prince Charles as Prince of Wales in 1969. There is a lot of history here! It's a beautiful rustic castle, right in the heart of Caernarfon. My wife and I visited Caernarfon Castle for about two hours during our day trip to the town. It was £6.75 each to get in, and was excellent value. The departure of the last train back to Porthmadog brought our visit to an end, and we could have easily enjoyed another two hours there - suggest allow at least two hours for your visit, and ideally three or four.
