Jun 05, 2009 · Where I though I'd just need to pay the extra 0.73 for the recorded delivery and the Freepost would take care of the actual small packet. So my question is: Can you add recorded delivery (and pay for it of course) to a Freepost envelope and the Freepost info/label/address cover the actual sending?

Dec 20, 2017 · Much like with Tracked delivery, you will be sent a receipt when the parcel is delivered. However, Recorded delivery only provides proof of postage - not proof of receiving it - because no one needs to sign for the item. If the parcel is small enough, it will be put through the letter box instead.Author: Josie Griffiths

Nov 12, 2016 · However, you must do this at the time of posting, it is not available afterwards. You can get a proof of sending for Freepost items but you cannot send items by Recorded or Special Delivery to a Freepost addresses, regardless of your willingness to pay.

For important documents where you need guaranteed delivery next day with online tracking and the ability to obtain proof of delivery at no extra charge, I'd recommend Royal Mail Special Delivery.
