You could turn on the delivery reports option within your phones' settings and automatically get delivery notification whenever a message was sent, without the need to type in a special code before every single message. If Vodaphone (and other carriers) can provide this feature as standard, why not O2?

I seem to remember O2 doesn't support delivery reports even on phones that provide the option unless you use *0# - this might have changed, but that was certainly the case in 2005 - the built-in delivery report option on most phones did not work on O2

Oct 01, 2007 · I don't know if this will still work but you can try it. When I used to be on O2 if you wanted a delivery report you had to type *0# (star, zero, hash, space) before your text and then you would receive a text to say it had been delivered. It was a while ago but it worked then, so maybe worth a try.

There is quite a few to chose from. 2nd if you type in *0# then a space then your message it will create a delivery report for your text message. This code works with O2, Orange & Vodafone. Not sure about Three. You could give it a try.

Dec 12, 2006 · There are currently no thanks for this post. Tesco Mobile is an MNVO (Mobile Network Virtual Operator) using O2's network. Unlike the other networks O2 do not support delivery reports via handset menu configuartion. What Tesco Mobile have told you is correct and the *0# technique must be used. This was discussed recently in this thread.
