Dec 11, 2007 · Delivery fee goes to the Papa Johns store to help pay for insurance to back the drivers as well as pay for the gas drivers use to deliver the pizzas. So while you still pay a delivery fee, it in no way goes to the driver personally, therefore the driver doesn't really get any gain from no tip.

Gas prices were plain bonkers. Everybody doesn't tip, and the money had to come from somewhere. Though I'd guess Papa Johns probably has a whole lot more money as a company to foot the bill for that sort of thing than I do, but I digress... The thing is, now gas isn't ridiculously priced. Oct 06, 2014 · I deliver part time for Papa John's. The driver doesn't get the delivery fee. That goes to Papa John's. Tipping is important because your delivery drivers make less than minimum wage and they handle your food. If you don't like the delivery fee policy, don't order from the company, but don't punish the drivers by calling them out and not tipping them.
