The Buffalo lighthouse is located at the end of a very nice waterfront park by lake Erie. The lighthouse is accessible for free (pedestrian entrance is on the right of the Coast Guard base vehicules entrance). There are free street parking. The waterfront park is really nice to walk or bike and spend some time relaxing by the water of lake Erie.

Event opens at 12. Gates opened at 11:30 to allow you to buy tickets for the tour. Basically the line moved forward a little and you signed a release and paid a "donation" of $5 for the lighthouse climb. When you get to the lighthouse be prepared to wait again. They allow 8 up at a time. It's tight. Narrow. 50 steps up and then three ladders.

In 1914, the third-order Fresnel lens in the Buffalo Lighthouse was moved to the Buffalo Breakwater, North End Lighthouse, which had become the main harbor lighthouse for Buffalo.

The Lighthouse Route To Miramichi. The driving time from Bathurst to Miramichi along the highway was about an hour. But we did not plan to head straight there. The coastal road went out along the point to the Miscou Point Lighthouse. The trip there and back along the Acadian Coastal Drive was about 6 hours. We just followed the starfish signs.
