Harbor Island, in the middle of Bucks Harbor, has a good channel around it which forms the anchorage. Shoals extend 250 yards off the northeast side of Harbor Island, and the channel is narrow between them and the shore northeastward. Harbor Ledge, covered 5 feet at the north end of the shoals, is marked by a lighted buoy.

Bucks Harbor Villiage. For more than 70 years the building housed a country store until it was closed around 1969. The land on which it stood, 96 feet by 125 feet, was purchased by Frank S. and Alfred K. Ames from Andrew Cole on February 2, 1888. The adjacent lot was purchased from Anna M. Conners in 1895.
