I've been traffic shaped at 'peak times' (the evenings) by BT for some time. A few months ago I spent many hours on the phone to india and eventually got to a UK office where they finally admitted they were throttling my internet traffic but said they would do nothing about it :mad:. Unfortunately switching away from BT is not an option.

Few hours later same day got email saying order completed. (activated early?). Glasnost still reported shaping on port 6881. bt com still reported me on the old package. Same for me. The typical pattern I see is that it plays fine for a few seconds and network traffic looks normal, then at some point the connection to YT seems to drop. Prodding it a few times tends to get it going again. Seems like it's a network issue with BT. I should use Wireshark to see whether there's anything obvious happening.
