The only entrance is from Route 16, which terminates are the one business in Broadkill, the Broadkill Store, basically a country store with the basics for a beach vacation, and excellent doughnuts on the weekends. The Broadkill Store basically bi-sects the north and south side of the beach. The south side is very sparsely populated.

Previously, the store was only open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Lisa Conte said the store will now open on weekends only starting in late April and open six days a week by May 1. Then from Memorial Day through Labor Day, the store will be open seven days a week. The store will remain open on limited hours through September and into October.
