By Michigan standards this is a very good ski resort. There are plenty of runs and lifts. Boyne Mountain offers skiers 60 trails serviced by 10 chairlifts and a magic carpet conveyor lift. The vertical drop is only 500 feet (152 meters); therefore, all your ski runs are short. For northern Michigan a vertical of 500 feet is considered average.

In honor of its 70 th anniversary, Boyne Mountain Resort hosted the 70-Hour Mountain Challenge, January 9-12, spinning lifts for 70 consecutive hours and helping to raise $34,500 for Challenge Mountain. The event had 200 participants who raised funds and 72 skiers and snowboarders that took to the slopes day and night tracking a whopping 7,257 runs.
