Boo frames are built using tube-to-tube construction. All of the frame’s bamboo tubes are hand-cut and chiseled to fit together perfectly before being bound with unidirectional carbon fiber. Tubes are hollowed to a 3-5mm wall thickness for weight savings and stiffness tuning. The average Boo frame takes 40-50 hours of labor to construct.

The Boo RS-M 29er, the same bike with the same gearing (single 32t up front, 11-36 in the back), trick push-button Di2 shifting, and carbon Lefty fork, is humming along like a top. I just recently put on some Enve 29er XC tubeless rims with Maxxis Aspen 2.1 tires front and rear…they are insanely stiff and fast.

I’ve ridden the Boo back-to-back with other bikes and they aren’t even close in handling, comfort, weight, climbing, descending, you name it, the Boo is better. The bamboo is also way more durable than a full carbon bike, which is nice for a mountain bike and even better if you need to travel/fly with it often, which I do.

Today, I just took delivery of my second Boo SL-G bike. My first one has gears and is a dream bike. It’s a solid bike, responsive, and oh so comfortable. As I was returning from a race in South Dakota, my Boo, which I call Booyakasha, flew off my faulty bike rack at 85 mph down I-90 highway!
