When NC lighthouses are advertised and tourists see pictures, it is usually the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. But it is an hour's drive from Manteo and Kitty Hawk. We rather visit Bodie Island Lighthouse which is 5 minutes away from Nags Head on Hwy 12. The views around it are beautiful. The bathroom facilities are newer.
