9.30am is standard in London only. The rest of the UK is 9am. Tax do a lot less hours than Audit. Audit work 8am to 7pm or later 3 months a year. The rest will be 9am to 6pmish. Time in lieu is not given by any Big Four in the UK. I know some of the smaller firms do it though.

I might be the exception but I am enjoying my time at the big 4. I am in a tax tech group and only work 40 hours a week. No pressure to work more and don't see myself leaving any time soon. There are other jobs within big 4 where you can have a life outside of it.
