My Friend and I spent a great weekend at the Barking Horse Farm in May 2012. We thoroughly enjoyed the hours of trail riding that we did in the surroundings of Puriscal. Liz took us over beautiful trails through fields and rivers. We visited a "trapiche", where they process sugar cane. Half way we had lunch in the center of a small village.

For the Rainforest Trek: All of the days except for 2 are between 4-5 hours in the saddle, day 2, expect about 6 hours in the saddle. We take breaks to get off the horse for a meal of other activities about every 2 hours throughout the day. And day 3 is a rest day in with no riding.

Your work hours will vary from 3 to 5 hours a day depending on what is going on and your interest. You will also have access to our video library. This volunteer position is a good learning environment for more understanding of natural horsemanship. There is a two week minimum for this position.
