The town of Bannack is open year 'round, with the exception of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Do check hours of operation, as I have learned the hard way. This wonderful old ghost town is truly exactly that. IF you want to walk in the footsteps of the pioneers of Montana, this stop is a MUST! They open at 8am so BE THERE EARLY in the busiest months.

Info to know about Bannack State Park 4200 Bannack Road Dillon, MT, 59725 Open May-October hours varying $8.00 per car for out of state visitors. Since we were renting a car, we had the flexibility to really travel wherever we wanted. Which turned out to be a good thing because Bannack was literally in the middle of nowhere.
