May 26, 2021 · Site of one of America’s best-preserved ghost towns and other attractions, Bannack State Park will with the Memorial Day Weekend shift to its summer hours: the Town Site open from 8 a.m.to 9 p.m. and the park’s Visitor Center open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week.

Town tours last about an hour. Visitors get to go behind locked doors and hear stories of outlaws vs. lawmen, townspeople, school children, and historical happenings. From Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, this tour leaves from the Visitor Center at 2:00pm on weekdays (Monday through Friday), and at 11:00am and 2:00pm on weekends (times may vary depending on events and staff availability).

The town of Bannack is open year 'round, with the exception of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Do check hours of operation, as I have learned the hard way. This wonderful old ghost town is truly exactly that. IF you want to walk in the footsteps of the pioneers of Montana, this stop is a MUST! They open at 8am so BE THERE EARLY in the busiest months.
