Ban Righ (pronounced Ban-Ree) translated from the Gaelic means « the Wife of the King » or the « Queen ». Built in 1925, Ban Righ is both home to 65 Queen’s women and the site of the second largest dining hall on campus, which was extensively renovated in 1997.
