It was well worth the time to visit Avery Island. The Tobasco tour was interesting and there is a nice gift shop and a restaurant on site. The Jungle Gardens was a beautiful drive with several places to stop and explore. We saw several alligators, turtles, and many birds. Bird Island is especially impressive with its huge colony of snowy egrets.

The trees, lawns and shrubs were much greener than I expected with widlife and birds in abundance. The place is very peaceful and easily absorbs 2-3 hours while exploring the many trails and habitat. Our vote is a definate "yes" to visit. We also toured the Tabasco factory and store, but Jungle Garden was the real treasure on Avery Island.
