The Ave Maria Grotto was a wonderful place to visit for a weekend. We started with a couple museums but the main attraction was this Grotto. I was surprised at how beautiful and professional everything actually was.

The self-guided tour brochure describes this attraction: The Ave Maria Grotto is located on the grounds of St. Bernard Abbey, the only Benedictine monastery of men in the State of Alabama. The Abbey was founded in 1891.
