Tours run on Sundays, weather permitting, and only at Alert Level 1. Tours also run on some Saturdays, please ring the visitor centre to find out if it is operating, ph (09) 267 1457. The tours last 20 minutes and start outside the Huakaiwaka visitor centre, from approximately midday until 3pm (weather dependant).

Oct 20, 2016 · Veer right at first roundabout and gardens are a short way down on left. Free. Very extensive collection of New Zealand plants and quite a few displays of plants from Africa and other countries, large rose and food plant gardens, many acres of gardens. Very calming after Auckland traffic. Overall 7 of 10 for gardens, not as much bloom in the fall.4.5/5(369)
