Anapji pond was actually the site where a vacation palace once stood for the Silla kings, where the nobles and royals enjoyed relaxing times and there was even a zoo for them to view exotic animals !!! If you want to view more of these excavated artefacts, just go across the road from Anapji Pond to the Gyeongju national museum !!!

Anapji Pond. Anapji Pond was a pleasure garden for the Silla royal family. When they excavated Anapji Pond they found many amazing ancient relics in the pond, including a beautiful pleasure boat. Apparently, the pond is very old (650 something), but I’m pretty sure that like many things in Korea it has been rebuilt much more recently.

You can take some of the best pictures at dark. The place is just photogenic! You can walk around the pond, and regardless on where you stand, you will not be able to see the whole pond. The pond was supposed to mimic the ocean! You can take pictures from many places. You may need 1 or 2 hours to enjoy the site. You have to pay a ticket to see it.
