The Amtrak website shows long (but confusing) hours for the kiosk so I think you’ll be ok. Note the ticket window hours as well—even though your ticket says to use the kiosk, the folks at the window will help (at least they did when I was there).

But I've only use a QT once to buy a ticket - and I used my credit card. So I don't know if it reads your name (from the strip) and puts that name on the ticket. But I don't believe so, since anyone can pay for anyone's ticket.
