Skiing at Alta only costs $54/day if you use their powder card, but staying at the Rustler is much more expensive. We think it's worth it, as it is an awesome, all inclusive resort with terrific food. But YMMV. You ski right out the door to Alta, and there is a private lift you ride to get back to the Rustler at the end of the day.
