The Akron Art Museum is the old Akron Post Office with a very modern add-on. What used to be the post office has muted interior walls and houses the older collection--It reminds me of what you would expect in an traditional museum. The addition houses newer art, including Warhol, Lichtenstein and I think I remember seeing a Rothko.

25 reviews of Akron Art Museum "The Akron Art Museum is a great facility that is almost entirely brand new. Originally, it was a small building that was built in 1899. The expansion opened in July. It is a spectacular building. I would think of it as Akron's architectural wonder. There is a brochure inside the museum detailing the architecture if you want to find out more.
