Unsocial hours payments are additions to basic pay. Before the publication of this Circular, calculation of unsocial hours payment during annual leave (which the Trust calls Working Time Directive/WTD pay) by multiplying basic pay with a percentage was valid up to 31 March 2008. From 1 April 2008 (yes, ten years ago), all reference to this method was removed from the AfC Handbook.
