Answer (1 of 2): I agree that tolerance and hard-wiring may play a role. Additionally, some people just need more frequent or higher doses than others. My son is a ‘fast metabolizer’ and has always needed higher and more frequent doses of psychotropic drugs than his ‘regular metabolizing’ peers....
