We have discovered that users who have activesync enabled and are accessing company mail on their iphone or ipad receive errors about being unable to connect to server, and pop ups on their device asking for user name and password. This makes sense since these users do not have 24/7 logon hours and they receive these errors and pop ups when they are outside of their logon hours.

May 05, 2010 · We have users that have iPhones and they use Active Sync with Exchange to get their corporate email. The problem is that some of the users have logon hours in AD that are set to 7-5 Monday through Friday and 8-12 on Saturdays.

Jun 17, 2016 · AdSync and ADFS access during a non-business hour. Using AD Logon Restrictions along with ADFS/Directory Sync works fine to block OWA access during a non-business hour schedule because a user is unable to login through the web form. Users are still able to conduct e-mail business on their smartphones through ActiveSync during those non-business hours though.
