Since there are few visitors to Corinth and therefore few visitors to Ancient Corinth and Acrocorinth the workers knew no one would start a tour of Acrocorinth at 2 PM--only one hour there. That is probably why it was already closed. So try again during morning hours such as 10:00AM--I hope the gates are open for you then! Hope this helps.

The fortified Acrocorinth then lost its strategic importance, a new city was built a few kilometres to the north-east of Ancient Corinth, and the Acrocorinth fell in ruins. ... Corinth is less than 2 hours drive from Athens and about 40 minutes from the town of Nafplio which is probably the best place to stay.
