The tours run every so many minutes (I think 30) so it's safe to say you can arrive any time before 3:30 p.m.(last tour) and not wait too long to go up to the mesa. You are able to explore the museum before and after the tour, watch videos of their cultural practices, ways of life and take a look at all the wonderful artifacts.
