Nov 10, 2014 · Any of the steps along the way on the Apple eco-system can cause delays in the process, especially if the Apple system is sending the messages as SMS. In the past, there were issues with the Apple messaging system which would cause my iPhone to not receive messages that were sent to me until I would restart my iPhone.

Aug 28, 2017 · Our iphone 6 plus, iphone 7 and iphone 6s all had the same issue and we are all on the same account with ATT. It was simple process after reading the replies here with the advice to call ATT. ATT simply reset our voicemail on our phones, we turned off our phones, turned back on and reset our voicemail and they all work fine now. Thanks so much!

I have an iPhone 4S, and I've noticed a delay receiving messages. When I've noticed the problem, I've always been on 3G, not Wi-Fi. I'll generally notice this when 5 or 6 messages in a conversation come in at the same time. From there, everything seems to be real-time with no problems.
