Mar 19, 2008 · First of all, Good Question :) I like it because its kinda oxymoron - Whether Amazon provides accurate estimated date or not? Well for me, delivery was made before the estimated date almost always because I guess they have some small amount of buffer built into the delivery date estimation program.

As for the estimated shipping dates, eBay says right in their Help page quoted above that they don't use the USPS estimates, they use their own, and that they are "Based on seller delivery information from the past", not on the seller's stated handling time. In other words, you can't fool the estimator by stating 3-day handling and then usually shipping in 1 day.
