(6 replies) Hello, I'm having some troubles using redelivery plugin and XA transactions. I'm using a spring listener-container and JtaTransactionManager in an application server. I'm using ActiveMQ 5.8.0. When the listener receives the message, we write it into a database and send a response message during the transaction. In order to test the rollback of the transaction, we throw an exception ...

Hi I'm working on getting activemq to play nice with our Weblogic jee server, and have installed the Activemq rar 5.9.0 on WLS. Activemq is running in it's own process, and not embedded in WLS So far it works perfect even with XA and all, but now I'm trying to customize the redelivery policy pr. destination using camel + spring, and I'm getting a bit stuck here.
https://activemq.apache.org/components/artemis/documentation/latest/undelivered-messages.html
If a redelivery-delay is specified, Apache ActiveMQ Artemis will wait this delay before redelivering the messages. By default, there is no redelivery delay ( redelivery-delay is set to 0). Other subsequent messages will be delivery regularly, only the cancelled message will be sent asynchronously back to the queue after the delay.

Once a message’s redelivery attempts exceeds the maximumRedeliveries configured for the Redelivery Policy, a “Poison ACK” is sent back to the broker letting him know that the message was considered a poison pill. The Broker then takes the message and sends it to a Dead Letter Queue so that it can be analyzed later on.

http://activemq.apache.org/should-i-use-xa.html
ActiveMQ does not currently support XA Transaction suspend / resume semantics. An alternative to XA So a good optimisation is to use regular JMS transactions - with no XA - and just perform some duplicate message detection in your code to check you have not already processed the message.

Sometimes it might be necessary to explicitly configure an instance of ActiveMQ connection factory, for example, to set redelivery policy, or other ActiveMQ-specific features that are not exposed through Mule connector parameters. To create custom ActiveMQ connection factory instance, first configure it using Spring, for example:

Dec 08, 2014 · Configuring a broker's redelivery plug-in is a good way to tune the redelivery of messages to all of the consumer's that use the broker. When using the broker's redelivery plug-in, it is recommended that you disable redelivery on the consumer side (if necessary, by setting maximumRedeliveries to 0 on the destination).
